Hi Emily, came across your fb account, it’s fab! I’m 10wks pregnant and overweight (15st6). I’ve done slimming world years ago, back in the just red and green days, but struggling to get my head around the new way of doing things. I joined online but am now thinking group may be better?
How did you manage whilst pregnant and have you any tips please?
Hi sweet 🙂 First off, Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
I am a total advocate for going to group. i could not have achieved all I have if I hadn’t had the support of my group behind me. That’s why I have still continued to go for the last 2 years since i reached target weight. It has helped keep me on track and stop me gaining the weight back.
With regards to SW while pregnant. I loved it. I was a target member so my aim was to just gain no more than the average so that i had very little to loose after having my little guy. however I know of women who were overweight that have actually lost considerable amounts of weight while pregnant. All while providing their babies with everything they need to be healthy. It is even supported by the British midwife society. I’m not saying that it will be easy and I know for sure I wasn’t on plan 100% and thats ok. My main rule is don’t be to hard on yourself. Your growing a little person and thats tough stuff. And what with sickness and cravings etc. I just made the best choices where possible. I only gained 12lb throughout and I got weighed the week after he was born and I was lighter than when I started xx
